Presented during the Open House in October the CH 850 is the latest addition to the Comacchio CH line of piling rigs.
The CH 850 is the largest multipurpose piling rig in Comacchio’s CH line, designed for efficient and versatile performance in foundation work. Weighing 97 tons, the machine is engineered with a strong emphasis on ease of transport, safety, operator comfort, and reduced environmental impact.
To enhance stability and simplify transport, the CH 850 features variable gauge tracks and a modular counterweight. The rig can be disassembled to a minimum transport weight of 51.5 tons, and the counterweight system is operated by a remote-controlled hydraulic lift, allowing safer and easier mounting and dismounting.
Powered by a Volvo diesel engine available in 345 kW or 405 kW, the CH 850 meets stringent EU Stage V and US EPA Tier 4F emission standards. It includes an advanced cooling system which optimizes cooling efficiency, reduces noise, and minimizes fuel consumption. The CH 850 stands out with its advanced hydraulic system that delivers precise power as needed, reducing energy losses and enhancing fuel efficiency. The high-torque rotary head of the rig can deliver up to 360 kNm torque and supports multiple piling methods such as Kelly, CFA, and Displacement piles, as well as Soil Mixing. The Comacchio Control System (CCS) provides full electronic monitoring and control of all machine functions, managing tasks like mast alignment, torque settings, and drilling depth to ensure seamless operation across configurations.
The operator cabin is designed for both comfort and safety, meeting Tops & Fops-1 certification standards. It features soundproofing, full-glass visibility, and AI-powered cameras for enhanced safety. Additionally, a radio control enables loading/unloading and set-up from outside the cabin.
