At Bauma 2025, Comacchio showcased its commitment to innovation and excellence in deep foundation engineering. We are grateful to the thousands of professionals from around the world who visited our stand to explore the latest advancements in machinery and technology.
The new larger stand, relocated at FN 521/1, featured a wide array of equipment, including everything from compact and lightweight rigs for soil investigation and environmental drilling, to machines for micropiles and anchoring, piling rigs, and solutions for water well and geothermal applications.
The highlight of the Comacchio stand was, without a doubt, the new CH 850 piling machine. Designed to handle the most demanding jobs, the latest addition to the Comacchio range delivers a maximum power of 405 kW (543 HP), a torque of up to 360 kNm, and has an operating weight with kelly bar of 89 tons. These specifications place the CH 850 at the top of its category for its unmatched balance between torque and weight. Capable of operating with various technologies - including Kelly, CFA, Displacement Piles, and Soil Mixing - the CH 850 suits a broad range of applications, from foundation piles to ground consolidation. Among the machine’s stand out features are its ease of transport and setup. Key features also include a latest-generation hydraulic system, which significantly reduces fuel consumption and emissions.
The foundation equipment on display also included two additional piling machine models - the compact and agile CH 150, and the highly versatile CH 450. The CH 150 stands out for its small footprint, incorporating an extendable undercarriage as standard, and improved performance thanks to its high-speed / high-torque rotary head. The CH 450, a best-seller in the Comacchio piling machine range, was shown in the DP (Displacement Piles) configuration, including rear stabilizers and a counterweight, designed for the installation of displacement piles up to 22 meters deep.
Many visitors were pleased to see the return of an old favourite - the MC 22, a truly iconic model in Comacchio’s range of micropile and anchoring rigs, now presented in its latest evolution (the so-called Gen8), offering enhanced efficiency, versatility, safety, and sustainability. Key upgrades in the Gen8 restyling include new, more powerful engines (180 - 205 kW), a more efficient hydraulic system with modern electronic controls, a new line of multifunction rotary heads, redesigned machine control panel interface and the new Comacchio radio control.
Among the new products introduced at Bauma is the MC 5 LR, part of the so-called “long reach” series. This agile and compact rig was developed to meet the needs of customers specializing in earth retention and slope consolidation projects using hollow-bar systems, but the multipurpose design allows to extend its use to “drill-and-blast” operations on quarry and construction sites.
The display of MC line rigs also included the MC 6S, an extremely versatile machine for foundation and tunnelling applications and the MC 8 in jet-grouting configuration, fitted with mast extensions that enable single-pass jet grouting up to 11.5 meters deep. The largest MC rig on display was the MC 28 A HD, a heavy-duty machine designed for demanding shoring projects that require multiple levels of ground anchors. Safety and efficiency are enhanced with the integrated rod-and-casing carousel, which can accommodate up to 7 rods and casings (3 meters in length). The carousel is operated remotely via Comacchio’s all-in-one radio control – eliminating manual handling and offering complete control over all machine functions from a safe distance. With its 10-meter stroke mast that covers all working positions, the MC 28 A HD is a high-productive unit, equally well-suited for micropile installation.
Bauma was also the opportunity to showcase Comacchio’s latest advancements in geotechnical, water well and geothermal drilling technologies. The geotechnical rig display included the GEO 305, a lightweight, compact drilling rig suitable for a wide range of geotechnical and environmental monitoring applications, and the GEO 900, one of the most versatile models in Comacchio’s portfolio. The GEO 900 is currently one of the largest models in Comacchio’s range of geotechnical rigs, powered by a 180 kW engine and equipped with a 15-ton-pull mast. The unit on display in Munich featured a high-speed Comacchio rotary head for deep soil investigations using wire-line techniques. It also included an optional mast rotation system, allowing the slewing of the mast up to 90°.
In response to growing demand for geothermal solutions, Comacchio has upgraded its GEO 602 GT, a long-standing model in its geothermal range. The version on display at Bauma incorporated an advanced double-head system delivering up to 2600 daNm on the lower head, with a tilting system and chuck designed to make rod recovery safer and faster. Thanks to its small footprint, the GEO 602 GT is the ideal choice for geothermal drilling in tight spaces tipically associated with residential projects.
In additional to the technical upgrades, all the machines on display featured a fresh new painting scheme. The standard paint of the Comacchio rigs has been updated, with the livery now dominated by dark grey, accented by a touch of red – both colors distinctively associated with the Comacchio brand.
From proven equipment to pioneering solutions, Comacchio once again demonstrated its role as a driving force in the industry.
